Keythorpe Hall X Rediscovered By

Homeware Collection

A creative collaboration born out of a shared passion for sustainability, design and nature

We have joined forces with Rediscovered By, the textile and wallpaper studio founded by Charlotte Krone, to unveil our first collaborative homeware collection, seamlessly merging the beauty of nature, the importance of preserving traditions and the elegance of design.

Charlotte and Barbara met when Charlotte called in at Keythorpe Hall to buy a bunch of locally grown flowers to act as inspiration for one of her designs. A quick encounter became a two hour tour of the house which was in the midst of renovation and ideas started brewing...

Charlotte went on to design various prints inspired by Keythorpe Hall’s walled garden and the surrounding English countryside, for lampshades, placemats and artwork, used her foxgloves print for a dreamy bed head and created amazing printed table linen for Keythorpe’s dining room.

Each item in this timeless collection has been designed to be pieces of art within the home, to inspire connection and celebrate the beauty of nature, and to be passed down for generations to come.

REDISCOVERED BY

Rediscovered By is a textile and wallpaper studio created by Charlotte Krone, inspired by nature and a rediscovery of historical textile techniques including flocking, foiling, silk painting and traditional weaving. Her design and manufacturing processes are very closely aligned; the design inspires how each product is manufactured and the manufacturing process often iteratively informing the drawings and the designs. Charlotte Trained at Goldsmiths University and the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia and is now based in Rutland - less than 10 miles away from Keythorpe Hall.

SUSTAINABILITY

All our fabrics are printed on Irish linen, produced at a small mill in Ireland which grows flax in the surrounding fields. Flax requires little water and pesticides and thrives in poor quality conditions, making it a much more sustainable fabric than cotton for example. Linen is also incredibly hardwearing,; Ancient Egyptian examples are still in tact today!

The natural variations by batch - for example, due to heavier rain one year or where some flax has grown under the shade on a tree, provide an enduring connection with where the cloth comes from. This honesty in the material and sustainability of the process is what we believe gives the cloth its unique beauty and character. It will only get better with age!

All fabrics are printed in the UK and repeated washing will cause slight fading of the colours, which we believe is part of the natural beauty of using a natural product.

WASTE

Waste reduction is a key objective and creative process for both Keythorpe Hall and Rediscovered By. Our chefs operate a no-waste kitchen, finding inventive and delicious ways to use offcuts and trimmings. Charlotte, in the Rediscovered By Studio is similarly inspired, and will create lampshades with wall paper offcuts or a unique cushion from the last metres of a roll of fabric.

All products in this collection are designed and manufactured to use for many years to come. However, we offer a repair service for any of the linen items. Is your item not repairable? Charlotte will turn your items into a bespoke artwork!

All packaging used is made out of the studio’s waste or other recycled materials. Everything is fully compostable.
